Our Vision

Our vision is to use stem cells to replace those support cells at the back of the eye that degenerate over time in the leading cause of blindness in the aged population known as age-related macular degeneration.

In this section we describe the disease in more detail with respect to the degeneration observed in the eye, recent attempts at replacing the dying cells and clinical outcome. Specifically, we describe a new surgical technique whereby the patients own cells (autologous) are used to replace the cells which have died.
